In a battle of state ranked teams, Class 3A No. 8 Houston Academy defeated Class 2A No. 2 G.W. Long 20-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 15-11 on Tuesday night in high school volleyball action at Houston Academy’s Ron Watson Court at Doug Killingsworth Gym.
Houston Academy improved to 6-1 with the victory, while G.W. Long fell to 7-2 on the season.
For HA, Molly Rutland had 20 assists, four kills, four aces and three digs. Millie Gay had 11 kills, 10 blocks and four aces. Rylie Spence had 12 assists, two kills and two blocks. Anne Davis Sinquefield had nine kills and Caroline Wells had six kills. Sofia Langford had seven digs.
Slocomb beats Geneva County: Slocomb gained a hard-fought 25-12, 25-18, 23-25, 25-16 win over Geneva County.
For Slocomb, Abigail Goodman had 15 kills and five aces, Chloe Andrews had 20 assists and seven digs, Avery Havas had nine kills and seven digs, Arianna Knox had eight aces, Jaylynn Hanco*ck had six kills, Calie Seay had 20 digs and six aces and Molly McGowan had 11 assists.

Rehobeth downs Providence Christian:The Rebels won 25-22, 25-27, 25-11, 16-25, 17-15.
For Rehobeth (8-3), Kryslin Martin had 31 kills, five blocks and 21 digs. Carolyn Merrill had 13 kills and 18 digs. Emily Arnold had 46 assists, 11 digs and three kills. Kerigan Freeman had five kills and eight digs. Brailyn Werner had three aces and 10 digs. Jessa Buker had 29 digs. Enterprise wins:The Wildcats beat JAG 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 in a Class 7A, Area 4 contest, improving to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in area play.
Abigail Wiggins had six assists, three aces and three digs. Morgan Williams had seven kills and three aces. Virginia Townsend had five kills and five aces. Jadyn Britton had five kills.
Samson wins:The Tigers beat Florala 21-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-17.
For Samson, Holly Warren had 15 aces and 10 kills, Aubrie Mock had five kills and 18 assists. Emma Sormrude had nine kills and Heidi Warren had seven kills, six aces and 17 assists.
NMA beats Ashford:The Knights won 25-27, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.
For Northside Methodist Academy, Addison Barefield had five assists, two digs and two kills. Mary Claire Morgan had 10 kills and two blocks. Shannon Alvord had four aces, 11 digs and 10 kills. Dana Cool had four aces and five kills. Kyra Hatton had 12 digs. Emilee Quintero had 20 assists.
For Ashford, Carsyn McArdle had three kills and 12 digs. Ella Helms had two aces and 26 digs. AB Morris had 29 assists. Amiyah Lewis had two aces, two blocks, 22 kills and 20 digs. Kayla Fields had four kills and three blocks. Jalissiah Jackson had three kills and two digs. LB Ingalls had 20 digs.
Eufaula gets win: Eufaula beat Barbour County 25-10, 25-14, 25-23.
Sahdia Wright had 15 kills, Olivia Whitehead had five aces and 10 assists and Kyla Richardson had 12 aces, 11 kills and two blocks.
For Barbour County, Tamia Peterson had two kills, four blocks and four digs, Brakia Russell had three aces, Enasia Ivory had two aces and DyQuoya Debose had two digs.
Opp wins: The Bobcats beat Luverne 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.
Carreline Spears had seven aces, 10 kills and eight digs. Ada Blackstock had six kills. Madie Wilson had 17 assists. LeTasia Coleman had 12 digs and Cryslyn Birge had 11 digs.
Cottonwood downs Houston County: Cottonwood rallied past Houston County 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-16 in a Class 2A, Area 2 contest.
The Bears (3-1, 2-0) were led by Kesha Anglin with seven aces, three kills and six assists, Savannah Robinson with nine kills and f our aces and Xiomara Birdsall with four aces and six kills. Shelby Ward delivered 10 assists and two kills and two aces. Kayleigh Jeffcoat had five aces and two kills and Abigail Kim had four kills.
Pike County beats Abbeville: The Bulldogs won 22-25, 25-11, 25-14, 27-25.
Hailey Griffin had seven aces, four blocks and three kills and Tamieja Taylor had six blocks and three kills.
Kinston beats Zion Chapel: Kinston defeated Zion Chapel 25-22, 25-7, 20-25, 25-19.
Lilli Sumblin had five aces and 22 assists, Sage Beck had three kills and two blocks and Allyx Williamson had 22 assists for Kinston.
Lakeside School falls: Lakeside School was swept by Edgewood Academy in AISA action on Tuesday.
Junior Varsity
Eufaula wins: The Tigers beat Barbour County 25-8, 25-11.
For Eufaula, Shantavia Cobb had eight aces and three assists, Jayda Mills had three aces and four kills and Brylen Smith had seven aces.
For the Jaguars, Dylyah Crews and Allison Glenn each had one ace and Tiana Boykins had three blocks.
Northside wins:The Knights beat Ashford 25-10, 25-10.
For NMA, Madison Foy had seven aces, seven assists and two kills and Jenna Forrester had one ace, one block and six kills.
Bulldogs win:Pike County beat Abbeville 25-10, 25-14.
Emma Garrett had 11 serving points and Zohee Lucy had seven.
Samson falls to Florala:The Tigers fell to Florala 25-23, 13-25, 15-8.
For the Tigers, Hattie Faulk had four aces, two kills and 11 assists. RaeLynn Crews had two aces and eight kills. Tawnee Ard had three kills, two aces and 10 assists.

River Riley had 17 assists and Trinity Carnley had four aces.

Providence wins: The Eagles beat Rehobeth 25-17, 26-28, 15-13.
For PCS, Camille Jackson had 14 assists, 13 aces and four kills. Annabelle Sanders had seven digs and six kills. Ellison Joye had seven kills, four aces and two blocks. Audrey McCollough had six digs.
For Rehobeth, Ava Dunning had two aces, six assists and two digs, Ryleigh Camp had eight kills and eight digs, Presley Taylor had two kills and three digs, Addie Ann McCarthy had two aces and three digs and Aubree Pollard had two assists.
Knights get win:Northside Methodist Academy beat Ashford 25-14, 25-15.
For the Knights, Addison Anderson had two kills and two assists, Amelia Rostorfer had 11 aces and three kills and Addison Myers had five aces and Tenley Forehand had two aces.
Kinston defeats Zion Chapel: Ariton beat Zion Chapel 25-5, 25-5.
Madi Phillips had nine assists and seven aces.
