Snow and rain are forecast from the Southwest to the western Plains.

Convocation set at Centre College's Off-Campus Programs" will be the topic of the convocation lecture scheduled for May 2 at Centre College. In Lincoln County Man faces four charges STANFORD Sherman Jones, 29, of Bass Acres, Stanford, was arrested on four charges after an incident at the Stanford Police Department Wednesday. City Police Chief Don Young said Jones was charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and abusing a 16-year-old juvenile.

Jones was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail. Young said Jones came in the police department and started abusing the juvenile. When Officer Kenneth Whittaker and Dispatcher Pat Robinson attempted to arrest Jones, he apparently assaulted them, said Young. Lincoln Co. man dies in cycle wreck LOUISVILLE A Lincoln County native died Monday in Louisville from injuries received when the motorcycle he was driving was hit from behind by a truck hauling cement. David Lee Anderson 53, of 12602 Castle Road in Louisville died of multiple injuries at 2:45 p.m.

at Humana Hospital University. He had been taken to the hospital by helicopter after the wreck which occurred about 9:30 a.m. on Dixie Highway in Jefferson County. Anderson was the son of Clarence Anderson of Lancaster and the brother of Doris Spurlin of Crab Orchard. Jefferson County Police have charged an Oldham County man with reckless homicide and failure to stop and render aid.

A Jefferson County Police Department spokesman said today that a cement-hauling truck driven by John H. Jumper, 34, of La Grange, ran over Anderson's motorcycle from behind and then dragged the motorcycle about 250 feet. The spokesman said Jumper failed to stop after the accident. Both vehicles were headed south. Anderson retired three years ago after 22 years as a truck driver for Company.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. Additional survivors include his wife, Ola Jane Rouse Anderson: four daughters, Anita Starrwood of Hermitage. and Frankie Anderson, Tonya Atkinson and Eleanor Anderson, all of Louisville: two sons. David Lee Anderson Jr.
